La máquina del tiempo

Ante el escepticismo de sus amigos, un científico de finales del siglo XIX logra descubrir las claves de la denominada cuarta dimensión y construye un vehículo que le permite viajar físicamente a través del tiempo. Con la intención de conocer el futuro de la humanidad se desplaza hasta el año 802.701, pero lejos de encontrar una sociedad plenamente desarrollada ve un mundo primitivo habitado en su superficie por unos seres hedonistas y con el subsuelo dominado por unas siniestras criaturas. Tras abandonar esta era, el protagonista continúa su viaje avanzando aún más en el tiempo hasta llegar al borde de la finalización de la vida en el planeta, con una nueva glaciación que casi destruye toda la civilización del planeta
